Long Arm Service FAQs
-
How much does it cost?
-
For an all over design, we have a flat rate ($.02) per square inch for most patterns. A dense pattern will be slightly more.
-
Custom work will be based on the amount of time involved and number of stitches. We can provide a rough estimate before beginning your custom quilting project.
-
What is included in the long arm service?
-
The quilting of your project with your choice of thread color and stitch design.
-
What are add-on options?
-
We can square up your quilt after it has been quilted. We can sew your binding and/or provide an embroidered quilt label with your desired information. There is an hourly charge for these services.
-
What do I need to provide for The Charmed Needle to complete my quilt?
-
We will need the backing fabric and batting. Or we can gather the materials for you. It’s up to you!
-
Does The Charmed Needle have a requirement for the backing material?
-
Yes! In order for our quilt machine to work at peak performance, we need a larger backing than the quilt top. Approximately 3-4 inches on all sides of the backing allows for our machine to move smoothly over your quilt top. So if your quilt top is 40” x 60”, your backing should measure at least 46” x 66”
-
Does The Charmed Needle have a batting preference?
-
We can use whatever you prefer! Our choice is an 80/20 cotton batting.
